Have you been meaning to start that exercise program for years now, but your health problems just keep "getting in the way?"  Or maybe your life has gotten a bit out of control and you know you would feel better at your optimal weight, but you just don't have the energy to deal with it.  Perhaps you are so stressed out by your health concerns that your anxiety is pervading your job, relationships, and your spirit?

It is possible to take back control. You can fit an appropriate exercise program, sound nutrition and stress reduction techniques into your day. Your illness may not be in your control, but how you respond to it certainly is. You can live comfortably with the knowledge that you are doing everything in your power to optimize your health.

After 46+ years of living with chronic illness, and 23+ years studying first disease in all its manifestations followed by health and wellness, I have discovered my inner alchemist... and transformed to a health and wellness coach for those with chronic disease! To that end, I have founded New Day Wellness, a non-profit 501(3)(c) organization which provides health and wellness coaching to individuals with serious health concerns, including chronic disease or physical disability.  I also provide one-on-one fitness training that is specifically designed to accommodate the client with special needs.

Dr. Julie Desch established New Day Wellness (NDW) in 2005. NDW is a non-profit organization with the mission of providing health and wellness coaching and fitness training to individuals with chronic disease. Dr. Desch is a retired physician with cystic fibrosis who, at 46 years of age, has jumped enthusiastically into her second career. After a medical career of diagnosing disease, she is now helping people with chronic illness who are so overwhelmed with the daily regimen of living with their disease that they can't imagine how to improve on their own wellness.
